Installed midway along the path designed by Extremo, this work presents a suspended object and a video monitor. The object, found and recontextualized, is a metal structure that functions simultaneously as a resonance box and the subject of the experience. For a period of time, this object was left in the territory where the path unfolds, and there it was subjected to a series of processes and actions: physical, environmental, and sonic \u2014 the construction of memory.
<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0The object is part of an artificial sensitivity system, perceiving and recording its reality through its own body. The system consists of a video camera and a mechanical exciter (adapted to capture vibrations and sound \u2014 modulated by its physical characteristics).
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>In the installation's presentation, these memories are exposed, left open to our interpretation. The video is displayed on a monitor, and the sound is reproduced by the object itself \u2014 a vibratory body and a listening surface. The processes and actions feed not only the artificial memories that were captured, but also create physical memories: changes in the material, scratches, and deformations that become part of the exhibited object.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span>The installation proposes a closed circuit of material memory: the object records, stores, and reproduces its own experience. It is not merely a matter of documentation, but of activating the listening of matter \u2014 hearing the world through the vibration of a thing. The object does not represent; it speaks, resonates, and affects.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Cl\u00e1udia Martinho is a sound artist, architect, and researcher. She is interested in spatial and sonic co-creation as a transformative tool and action, aimed at regenerating the relationships between humans and ecosystems.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0For Extremo, she developed a site-specific installation based on a year-long collection of the natural, geological, and human heritage of the territory.
\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Voices of the Stones is a creation that explores living relationships between the soundscapes inhabiting the Monte da Falperra territory and its many voices that echo through time. In a clearing of cork oaks, the potential of the site's acoustics is explored, surrounded by large granite boulders that resonate with the living memories of an ancient place of pilgrimage, of waters, and of the life that dwells there.

Sistema Sonar <\/span><\/i><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Sistema Sonar has its gravitational center in an automatic pipe organ, controlled by an interactive system where users' actions determine its musical behavior. The small chapel of Santo Ant\u00f3nio, rarely accessible throughout the year, opens during the Extremo Festival to host this installation developed by the Sonoscopia collective.\u00a0
<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 This uniquely designed organ allows us to communicate between the imaginary extremes that define territories, thus transcending the physical boundaries and spiritual barriers that separate us.
<\/span>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0A key collective in the national sound art scene, Sonoscopia positions itself as a space for reflection and creation, where the convergence of different ways of thinking and acting is one of its main strengths.
